Venkata (Sirish) Malisetty is a dynamic leader with over 16 years of experience in higher education, retail, and IT consulting. Known for his strategic vision and expertise in data governance, Sirish is passionate about leveraging data to drive institutional success and enhance the student experience. As a Data and Analytics Lead at California State University Northridge (CSUN), Sirish spearheaded transformative initiatives aimed at optimizing data infrastructure and promoting data-driven decision-making across campus. Under his leadership, innovative tools like Canvas Insights and the Early Retention Alert system were developed, significantly improving student success metrics and fostering a culture of data-driven innovation. Prior to his role at CSUN, Sirish held key positions at leading organizations including Wipro and Infosys, where he managed and scaled analytics teams, upgraded BI applications, and spearheaded data integration projects for global clients. His diverse experience has equipped him with a unique blend of technical expertise and strategic thinking, making him a valuable asset in any data-focused environment. Sirish holds a Master’s in Business Administration from California State University Northridge and a Bachelor’s of Technology from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. He is certified in various data and BI tools including Tableau, Oracle, and Snowflake, and is a recognized leader in the field of data governance and management. Outside of his professional endeavors, Sirish is actively involved in the higher education community, serving on committees and presenting at conferences such as Cal State Tech Connect. He is committed to advancing the field of data analytics in higher education and is dedicated to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of his work.
